Yes, you are at the right blog and yes, I am updating! Who knew planning a wedding required so much time?! Needless to say, things have been insanely busy in the Bauerlein household, but once again, I was embarrassed at the INfrequency of which I update. Maybe I’ll get better, but I won’t make any promises 🙂
Let’s see…where to start? Well, the Bauerlein/Keiffer girls/girl decided to have a girls’ weekend in Dallas (conveniently around my first bridal shower at Jon’s parent’s house!). We had a blast! We celebrated Aimee and Claire’s birthdays, shopped, watched movies, and had girl talk. All in all, it was a GREAT weekend and lots of fun! Here are a couple pictures from this “momentous” weekend 🙂
It was then time for vacation! My family rented a home near Lake Austin for a week. We had a blast! We rented a boat, did the segway tour of downtown Austin, and spent the 4th of July watching illegal fireworks!
The segway tours were SO MUCH FUN! In fact, I was so excited, I tried
to wear a kid’s helmet…I was quickly informed by the tour guide that I
would be needing an adult helmet. Our tour guide also took pictures
of us. The last one is our “silly pose.” What’s so great about this picture
is that it was taken mid-pose. I think Luke’s “mid-silly-pose” is my favorite!
Finally, we celebrated Austin’s 1 year birthday! I can’t believe that he is already so old!! He’s grown up so fast and changes every day. I’ll really miss getting to see him whenever I need a baby fix! Here’s some pictures of my precious little nephew!
Jon and I are officially “showered!” We have been so blessed by people’s generosity! The Lord has opened my eyes to His provision for us throughout our engagement and our showers have been no exception! Our official countdown is 18 days!!!! Isn’t that crazy?! It seems like yesterday that we were getting engaged and just beginning the process of planning.
I am still jobless, but trusting in God’s provision more and more. My prayer is that the attitude of my heart will always be one of gratitude because He has been so gracious to us. He keeps reminding me that EVERY provision, whether it comes from a company or from the pockets of His people, comes directly from His hand. Isn’t that a comforting thought? I find myself completely humbled that He loves me and provides for me on a daily basis. Needless to say, the job searching has taught me to trust in Him more and more, leaning not on my own understanding, but acknowledging Him in every circumstance!
